The Confederate submarine CSS Hunley - hand powered by a crew of 9 men made a daring late night attack on the 16 gun sloop USS Housatonic. Armed with a spar torpedo packed with explosive powder and attached to a long pole on its bow, the Hunley rammed Housatonic. The resulting explosion sank both ships killing all aboard. Measuring 35"L x 4 1/2"H x 4 1/4"W this unique ship model will be treasured by any nautical collector.
