Bulb Replacemnt Directions For Illuminated Globes



BULB REPLACEMENT FOR GLOBE BALL MOUNTED IN SEMI OR FULL MERIDIAN 12"/16"

DIRECTIONS:   

  1. Unplug the globe from the electrical outlet. ALWAYS use caution while plugging and unplugging cords in an outlet. Keep all metal objects clear of all electrical outlets.
  2. Turn the globe upside-down with base up.
  3. Locate the screw in the metal numbered semi meridian. With a screw driver, loosen and remove the screw.
  4. Pull the semi meridian away from the globe completely freeing the globe from the base.
  5. Gently pull electrical plate with bulb out of globe ball.
  6. Carefully turn the bulb counter clockwise and remove from socket.
  7. Replace with new bulb turning clockwise (not more than 25 WATTS).
  8. Replace electrical plate & bulb back inside globe ball.
  9. Reassemble time dial and ball over pin on top of semi meridian.
  10. Locate bottom of semi meridian over plate lining up holes.
  11. Replace screw to semi meridian.

CAUTION: This product has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a feature to reduce risk of electrical shock.  This plug will fit in polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an extension cord unless the plug can be fully inserted. Do not alter the plug.





BULB REPLACEMENT FOR GLOBE BALL MOUNTED IN SEMI OR FULL MERIDIAN 20"/30"

DIRECTIONS:   

  1. Remove electrical plug from wall outlet and remove globe and ring
    from stand.
  2. Place globe onto an open box or a pillow on the floor to keep it from
    rolling. Turn brackets facing down.
  3. Tilt globe up at North Pole to access screws on bracket. Remove the
    two screws and the North Pole bracket from the meridian ring, using a
    screwdriver. DO NOT remove the two screws on the South Pole
    bracket.
  4. Reposition globe and meridian ring as shown.
  5. Position yourself at the South Pole end of the globe. Grasp ring at
    equator with both hands on either side of ring. Simultaneously raise
    ring up and slide towards you to remove South Pole electrical
    assembly from the globe. remove electrical assembly from
    South Pole on meridian ring.
  6. Change bulb. Do not use more than a 40 WATT bulb for 20" diameter
    globe, or more than a 75 WATT for 32" globe. 
    Reassemble globe in opposite order. See figure #3 for proper
    assembly of North Pole parts.
