The Cutty Sark was a legendary boat that was built in Scotland in 1869. It was part of the China Tea Trade until the year 1873 when the ship embarked on a 20 year passage between England and Australia. This majestic boat served under the Portuguese flag for 25 years. Now you can own a piece of history with this scale model replica of the famous vessel.
This smaller version of the Cutty Sark has been beautifully crafted to appear like the original ship. On the ship you will notice a large amount of detail in the miniature wood and metal ornaments. There are 3 wooden booms, 1 wooden bunker, as well as 4 front and one main mast with fabric sails and detailed stitching. There are also metal anchors and statues throughout the ship all placed by hand.
Our Cutty Sark measures 22” L x 5.5” W x 17” H and weighs 2.2 lbs. It was built according to scale based on original plans and historical photos used by the master craftsmen who spent countless hours building each individual ship. This quality piece is situated on a sturdy wooden stand and features a metal name plate with “Cutty Sark 1869” engraved on it. It will arrive fully assembled and ready for you to display with other pieces found in the Model Ships section of our website. You may also check out P035 Small Floor Display Case.
