Add the Key West Lighthouse Nautical Wall Sculpture from Everything Nautical to your lighthouse collection!
It is handcrafted from metal by skilled artisans and features a striking rendition of the Key West Lighthouse in Florida. It measures 13" W x 20" H x 5" D and is hand-painted in beautiful coastal colors. Next to it Cabbage palms are swaying with the wind, adding to this wall sculpture's charm. Hang it in the living room to display your love for the shore, or on your porch to create a seaside ambiance.
Lighthouses are always interesting no matter where they are located. The first Key West lighthouse was a 65-foot tower completed in 1825. The Great Havana Hurricane of 1846 destroyed the lighthouse. The USS Morris, which was wrecked during the storm, reported "a white sand beach covers the spot where the Key West Lighthouse stood". A new lighthouse was completed in 1848. After the Coast Guard decommissioned the Key West Lighthouse in 1969, it was turned over to Monroe County, which in turn leased it to the Key West Arts and Historical Society.
