 Product Description

Everything Nautical proudly presents the 20" USS ConstitutionThis model ship is also known as "Old Ironsides". It is a wooden hulled, three masted heavy frigate of the United States Navy. According to Wikipedia, it was named by George Washington.  This model ship has real cloth sails, and cotton rigging. The original ship is currently anchored in the Port of Boston, a treat that should not be missed if you live there or are visiting.  The term "Old Ironsides" came about because of the hardness of the Oak hull, which rejected the cannon balls shot from British ships during the War of 1812. It was commissioned in 1794, and was launched in 1797. In the war of 1812, it defeated 3 British ships in action. This ship comes fully assembled.
