This beautiful nautical desk is a top quality replica of the desk used by navigators in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries as they sailed the seas in search of new lands and trade routes. With a compass and charts spread across the top, the navigator charted the course. Since space was limited on these ships desks had to be cleared and stowed at a moments notice and furniture had to be multi-functional.
